What is the exact save file that I need in order to transfer my playthrough into The Witcher 3?

Is it an autosave during the Epilogue? If so, will it be overwritten if I reload at an earlier stage and play again to see different outcomes?

The last and newest autosave after killing / sparing Letho. If you want to be on the safe side then choose the simulation-option when you begin a new game.
