Hi Guys,

1. I have enjoyed Witcher 1 very much but I am severly Handicapped and unable to use the standard WASD movement mode. So I can only use one of the other 2 modes of the three control systems of that game my Question is: Does Witcher 2 have the same control systems or have they decided to only go with WASD for movement only? If they did I won't be able to play it so it's VERY IMPORTANT that I get a clear answer on this.

2. I'm Confused according to the press conference today they said it would use a Serial Code and Securom and a 1 time 50 MB file download and a 1 time Internet connection. Then when GOG spoke they said we would get the Serial Code for DLC and such but was not really needed. But, no mention of the use of SecuRom I thought the GOG versiom was going to be totally DRM free and, if so, That would mean no Securom no 1 time file Download or internet connection or am I way off in this way of thinking?

About the second question, the version on gog.com will be drm free. All the other versions will use securom, so they require online activation and the download of that 50 MB file.

It's a pity they destroy the retail version using securom.
Until yesterday I was not sure which version to buy, but when I heard of online activation I preordered the game from gog.

They said that we will get a serial number (same as the one securom uses), as it will be required in order to download extra stuff, if we optionally register our copy.

As for the controls, we are not sure yet. I've read somewhere on the Web, that they did change the combat system, but the only thing specifically mentioned was that left-click would be strong attacks, right-click quick attacks. However whether that'd be the only option, or how movement is handled hasn't been spcified. Maybe someone who already played the demo version on a convention or as a reviewer could help you with this.

As for the second question, vanchann already got it right on. I'd only add that where CDPR has direct infulence they've opted for no DRM, so the GOG digital and Polish retail as far as I know. Seems that the market still lives in the XXth century, let's hope GOG and other DRM-free crusaders will change that.

Goshdarnit, now Lennon's "Imagine"'s all over my head...

I had pre-ordered the CE from German amazon, but being highly disappointed by the required online-activation I'm now about to cancel that order and buy the GoG version. I do have a slow internet connection, though, and downloading the whole game will be a pain... :-(

The isometric camera view does not exist in The Witcher 2. Besides, The Witcher has now free 3D motion capabilities like jumping over obstacles or climbing walls. I'm afraid this means WASD will be the only way. :(
