Has anyone noticed any problems with text or graphics on the popup panels in the tutorial? Or if you don't remember, would someone will be willing to start a new game and run the tutorial on TW2 EE and see if you see what I see?

I see strange text (like "[GI_Tutorial,Hint1]") on the help panels when they popup. For example, every panel that pops up (with directions for how to play the game) has a "hint" in the lower-left corner that looks like this for me...

[[GI_T
utorial
Press to restore the tutorial panel

And in other places I see text like this...

[[GI_Tutoria
lHint,1]]

It looks like this text is "word-wrapping" and probably reads "[[GI_TutorialHint,1]] all in one word. I'm afraid the game is not finding a resource that it needs, or something. I don't want to get halfway into the game and find out it's corrupted again.

I have totally uninstalled, and REinstalled, the game 3 times now. The first couple times I installed and then patched upto EE. But this last time I just freshly downloaded the full 16GB EE version directly and installed it all in one go. Still seeing the same thing.

UPDATE: I think I figured out what these strange tokens are... I believe they're supposed to be replaced by graphics of keyboard keys, but for some reason it's not working for all the keys. For example, there is a panel that opens when you are standing over the dead body in the tutorial. The panel shows a bunch of the keys you can use. The first description is for the Up and Down arrow keys, and there is a nice bright orange graphic of those two keyboard keys.

But the NEXT description is for the Enter key, but instead of showing a graphic of the Enter key it has a token-string that looks like [[GI_Enter]] instead. Searching around in the TW2 folders I found a file called Input_QWERTY.ini that seems to have entries for all these strange tokens I'm seeing. For example, scattered throughout the file there are entries that looks like these...

IK_Enter=(Gamekey=GI_Enter,Value=1.000000)
IK_Tab=(Gamekey=GI_TutorialHint,Value=1.000000)

where I can clearly see the "GI_Enter" and "GI_TutorialHint" strings. I'm guessing that the Tutorial is unable to find some of the picture-graphic icons for some of the keyboard keys when displaying those popup panels.

There is a "tutorial.dzip" file in the /CookedPC folder, that might have some of these graphics and/or panel text. But I don't know how to unzip a ".dzip" file. I found a suggestion on witcher.com to use quickbms.exe and a script, but the script was corrupt and I didn't get very far.

Anyway, would sure love to know whether EVERYBODY is getting these small glitches with the tutorial, so I can just forget about it and move on. Thanks!

Thanks for the reply! I'm "glad" to hear this... I mean, I'm glad it's probably not an bad installation if it's just a problem with the tutorial. That gives me hope I have a good install and can now play the game.
So this is still happening? Any solutions? It's happening with the steam version, too.

Any solutions?

P.S. Yes I realize the original post is almost 2 years old but the issue is still happening.
