Seriously, though ... the is a problem of "not enough permadeaths" in the rpg genre.
Even in this game, I sorta wanted to know what happens if Geralt doesn't make it.

If you're playing a tabletop rpg (well, other than D&D anyway - 'cos you just get better), how you die and the consequences from it is part of the story, and can be totally awesome.
Instead, rpgs have this thing going of "everyone needs to be able to complete every game" .. I mean wtf.

I would prefer there to be a slightly different system .. maybe with a different checkbox that says "hardcore" ... so even players who aren't pro can experience the incredible rush of a zero-death run.
I've never played an RPG before. Played TW2 all the way through on Insane and loved it. Maybe you are more average than you think. Except in the stupidity stakes...where you are WELL ABOVE AVERAGE.
I do not usually flame, but GOD I can't help myself. OP you are a complete pretentious tit!
i'm not even going to attempt insane mode until the Enhanced Edition of witcher 2 comes out and the game is closer to its final state.
Everything about the OP's post is fantastic, but that final sentence especially so. You can almost see the compelling coup de grace that it was meant to be, and watch it transform into a hilariously childlike "waaaaaaaaah" by the sheer inanity of what preceded it.

Amazing :)

I think it's verys interesting how many people expect there to be an enhanced edition of TW2. I didn't mean to single you out, you're just there right now and proclaim it with such certainty, that there will be.

I like to belive that CDPR did strive to make it better and as perfect as possible this time around, so there won't be any NEED for an enhanced edition. They would not have learned from their prior mistakes, if they would've gone at it with the same MO than 4 years ago.

They are working on patches, yes. They promise DLC and perhaps expansion(s). I'm glad they care for us as much as they do. Like putting a little extra DLC with every patch, which noone seemed to have noticed or acknowledged, while they were busy complaining about aspect ratios or something. I thought it was nice, not something you'd expect from any other dev (just thought someone should mention it).
Due to the lack of any responce from the op I think this was just a troll

I agree I don't expect there to be an enhanced edition of tw2 like there was of tw1. There may well be a Gold or collectors edition in a year or two which included all patches and dlc etc but nothing like the reworking that went into tw1 enhanced edition.

you do have a point - i don't believe things in TW2 will be reworked nearly to the degree that TW1 was with the EE.

but i still think it's premature to start an insane mode playthrough when we're still having monthly patches that may break saves.
