...I am literally dying to see what happens next. I wish this was prequel to books so I could go and read them (what Im doing anyway).

Ive never had such a blast with a game storywise (even though I am kind of guy who prefers high difficulty for bragging rights, I switched to medium after first act, becuase I wanted to know story so much that gameplay "held me back"). Its RPG of the all time. Better than Baldurs Gate 2, better than Diablo, better than Dragon Age (I am Bioware fanboy, so thats serious statement). Skyrim, my (ex)#1 awaited game, is just going to dissapoint me now...

This is storytelling masterpiece. I really cant wait to know what is going to happen next.

Oh thank you so much, I said I was gonna find him the next day. Now I know where to look.
Hey, ok, let's flame. The Witcher is certainly bold, beatiful, mature, fun (when no bugs are envolved) and by all means well written (in terms of dialogue) but story itself...eh?!:-O

It's messy, it often lacks direction, too many things sometimes happen at once, too many characters have too many motivations etc (what is Geralt's motivation to do various obligatory quests - think about it and you will see how little sense it actually makes) etc.

Sure man, I am also a fanboi of other things (original Baldur's Gate, SWKOTOR) so I understand, but still wanted to give you something to reflect on...

TW2 is a great game no doubt, but no reason to write off Skyrim. It is still on my list.

thats what I enjoyed. Lack of "direction" was what kept me in. It wasnt "here, this is archdemon, you have 40 hours to make army and kill him"
And by story I meant every single subplot, there are no side quests that are not interesting or boring (maybe aside from contract quests, but I usually did those "on way"). I enjoyed character developement of Iorweth or Letho (so much that I let Letho live in the end).

What was beautiful touch was that every tiny story got finished. Atleast in quest description. Like I didnt do a nekker quest and then there appeared something like "and now, Flotsams woods are known for huge amounts of Nekkers in area".
Quests are excellent, hands down. I enjoyed most of them a lot and was continuously appalled by their imaginative design...
