I am working on finishing The Witcher One before I begin The Witcher Two.... I am wondering if you have to have completed the first one before you can use it in The Witcher Two? Also,I am right close to the end of chapter four of The Witcher One..... I am a completionist so I like taking my time and doing all the quests..... Can someone tell me approximately how long I have left before the game completes.?

Oh yeah once I complete first game does The Witcher 2 automatically look for the completed game and set it up?

You don't have to complete Witcher 1, but I believe you have to be at least as far as the ice fields. As far as how much you have left, it really depends on your playstyle, but if memory serves (been a while since I played it), the last chapter isn't very long.

Yes, when you fire up The Witcher 2, the game will give you the option of importing a Witcher 1 save. It will automatically look in the default Witcher 1 save folder and ask if you want to use any valid save there.
Out of curiosity, if you haven't beaten the end of W1 before, how do you know you are almost done with act 4? I'd say, depending on play style, act 5 can be between 5-15 hours. And then the epilogue is a couple more hours, unless you just rush through.

Thats a good question? I just get the feeling I am because all the quests in the area I am in are completed and I can't do anything else on the island except leave so I just ASSUMED Chapter 4 was coming to a close...... Oh well, I guess I should never assume anything.....
