i want to buy The Witcher 2 via Steam summer sale the next days.

But i have one problem: My computer does meet the system requirements, but i can not install SP 2 (Vista) on my computer. I have only installed Vista with Service Pack 1, and SP 2 does cancel the installation all the time.

Can anyone tell me, if Witcher 2 will run on Vista with Service Pack 1?

Edit: Rest of system should be fine: Core 2 Quad Q9300 with 2,50 GHz, 4 GB Ram and GTX 460.

It seem to list XP as a supported system. However I would try to check if your system can handle file size up to 8 GB because it listed this on steam page. Edit: I just found this.

It says that to get more than 8 GB size you need the X64 which is also known as Window XP 64 bit version.

but i was not talking about Windows XP and not about 32 or 64 bit system...

Ahh my bad you still need the Window Vista 64 bit (64 bit can handle bigger files size which witcher 2 requires as per steam requirements).

I don't think you really need to have SP 2. Just the 64 bit version.

To find out if you actually have 64 bit or 32 bit. Click on start button > click "Control Panel" > click on "System and maintenance" > click "System".

You should be able to find out if you have 32 bit or 64 bit.

If you are sure, then i can not install it, cause i have 32 bit system, thats for sure.

Yes it will run on Vista 32 SP1

running 8gig files sizes only requires a NTFS or later hard disk format (ie not FAT32)
