HenriqueVT: I'll max out the settings. Didn't work? Time to Overclock my gtx 460. And if it still doesn't work on my computer after all this time.......i'll...i'll DIEEEEEEE

Nice tip, i might actually do the same.

Fjellbukken: Im not really counting on my GTX 480 doing this game on max :-)
Then buy a new PSU and a second GPU ^^

diamount: My hardware is all mixed up though, I've got a dualcore when it's recoomend you use a quad core but then I've got a gtx 260 which just meets the recomeneded settings.
That would be even more reason to tweak.
The 260 is the recommended card, not minimum. And yeah, you should get a quad to match it (or hexacore and a new GPU whenever).

Dont really need that. I specced for SLI when i purchased this rig :D

Just havent CBA yet. I am sensitive to micro stuttering (i tried GTX 295 once, returned it faaaast) and alot of games also doesnt support the extra power.

It's not about that, it's about the best balance of visual quality and performance, based on your setup.

I've only noticed serious microstuttering in a couple of games. And I have 2 of those cards.

But since Nvidia released the 250+ drivers I've had little to no issues with the cards. Majority of games scale very nicely and I haven't really noticed any microstuttering in a long time (with the exception of Mafia 2 in quad sli mode)

The way i read it is that MS is most noticable when running less than 60 fps, so i guess im pretty safe with 2 gtx 480 running to keep FPS higher in majority of games, but until now i havent had any use for SLI. Perhaps TW2 will prove that wrong :-) In that case i have SLI on 20th of may ^^

Well.. Dual GTX 295s. About every game runs 60fps or better.. :)

And I'm pretty confident about The Witcher 2 also. All previews I've read have said that the game runs great even on modest hardware.
I'm prolly gonna spend a great deal of time tweaking. I wonder if it has a short benchmark, would make things easier. If not, oh well, I remember tweaking ini settings for Oblivion for hours back in 2006 on my old computer.
Anyone planning on playing in 3D Vision? Hope my GTX 580 can handle it :/
I have an i7 950, GTX480 and 6GB of DDR3 and I have not yet found a game I cannot run well (never below 30fps) on max settings, including Crysis and Metro 2033. Part of me hopes I can run this game on max no worries, but part of me hopes I can't, so I have a reason to upgrade some more.

30 is crap FPS. I see stuttering and unfrequent moving.

I need stable 60, else its no good. The image seems choppy at best when at 25-35fps. While playing @ 35 for example, the framerate moves up and down like a train in Transport Tycoon Deluxe. 45, 30, 38, 30, 50 etc. That is very noticable and extremely annoying.

I have even better specs than you and i cant run much on max because of the 60 fps mark. Usually just lower some AA and i`m good though.

Risen is a good game where these drops is extremely noticable. When you turn around you suddenly go from 60 to 45. That drop doesnt go unnoticed.

eskiMoe: The game's Steam manual.
Could you post a link please? The manual here doesn't have anything about the graphics settings. I'm not doubting you, I'd just like to have a look at it for myself.

I don't think this is the kind of game many at all will be able to play on max settings. The uber sampling looks more like something there to future proof it rather than be used with current hardware.

I often play a bit a max settings around 45fps then drop each setting down one by one, seeing which ones make no difference and which have a big impact, then make a decision as to what I want to drop down to get at least 60fps at all times.

Sorry. I got it from another forum. Also, there is a picture like this floating around the internets:

But CDPR has previously talked about that uber sampling mode so I'm pretty sure that's legit.
