Has anyone managed to kill the mysterious man, at the end of the quest "From a Bygone Era"
I don't know why but I feel some mysterious secret awaits if you manage to defeat him.

After trying 78 times, I've finally given up. I have tears in my eyes and my keyboard is smashed after hitting it with my fist in desperation when trying to cast ARD on the golems for the 12th time and geralt just stood there doing nothing.

The combat in this game is action oriented and it requires the control responsiveness of an action oriented game. those few milliseconds represent the difference between life or death.Thats when it is working. When is not working, you can press a button a dozen times and it simply does nothing.

I'm a level 31 witcher with 615 health 4 vigor and specialized in swordsmanship. I'm playing on hard.

The rest of the game has been extremely easy. I don't even use group finishers because is too overpowering. Not to mention queen...

I just defeated him.
Nothing like a break and a sandwich to refresh ones mind. I momentarily felt as if I had done something impossible, but after reading the post in that link bah, what a disappointment.

In any case I managed to defeat him with a bit of luck and by changing my approach from defender to attacker. If you start running away sooner or later either the fireballs or the gargoyles will hit you.

BTW the loot is crap, I was expecting to discover the secrets of the universe and all I got was a lousy staff.....
