Specter oil damage bonus doesnt seem to work...

I wasnt just battling some wraiths with the aid of specter oil (should give +20% damage against wraiths)

I noticed that i didnt seem to be doing any extra damage. So i loaded an earlier save and battled the same wraiths without applying the oil... Sure enough I did exactly the same damage as with the oil.

I also had a look at the attributes section on the character screen. It also shows no extra damage being applied to wraiths. (this is with my sword drawn which is required in order for a damage bonus applied to a blade to show on the attributes screen)

this sucks.... and I hope specter oil is the only oil that is effected.

the other possibility is that im using the oil extra duration mod. I disable that and see if there is any difference.

EDIT - made no difference when i disabled the oil extra duration mod.

can someone check if the oil doesnt work in their game also ?

Yeah, I also noticed the same thing, but thought it was just my imagination.

Could be that the oils in the game are bugged.

I think you might be right. the oils dont work ! this is a pretty significant bug ! how did they miss that !

If someone has some time it would be great to do some testing on a number of oils to see if they are actually increasing the stats they say they are.

I just tried Falka's Blood, Hanged Man's Venom, Specter Oil, and Necrophage Oil and they seem to apply the proper bonus for me on the character screen at least. I will need more free time to load up saves and test the number of sword swings on actual enemies.

thats weird, cause specter oil (and i think falka blood) doesnt show up on character screen for me. for specter oil its says wraths 0% (damage)

which version are u using ? (im using gog)

Fricking wraiths, man, kicked my arse the first few times I ran into them. They're hard with the oil when the damage bonus is applied, but without it...wow. Hopefully the oil issues will be addressed in the upcoming patch.

I have the gog version as well with the 30 minute potion and oils mod.

Specter oil damage bonus isn't showing up on my character screen either. Only mod I have is the low weight tradeskill items. Gog version. The silver sword has the specter oil listed on its tooltip description though.
