Sorry if theres already a thread about this, I don´t want to scroll through too many topics to be careful not to spoil much.

I´m a little bewildered by the saving in this game. Isn´t opening up the menu and clicking save essentially the same as quick-saving if I don´t get to designate anything as the save file?

My problems with this are twofold.

1. I´m playing on a low-end laptop on low resolution and bare-ass minimum settings. (I know that riles up some people but I couldn´t care less about graphics.) That said, my performance isn´t exactly awe-inspiring. I want to avoid the same problem I encountered with the original witcher, which was that I eventually ended up with so many save files that I had to sit there for 20 seconds just for the game to load up the files, and had to delete all the extras on several occasions.

I basically want to be able to either save on top of pre-existing files, or delete save files of bits I´ve already played. Any advice?

2. My brother will probably want to have a bash at the game as well, which I´ve told him is currently bordering on impossible as the save files would be all over the place. It would just be too much effort and hassle to go through.
Each time you save it creates a new save game. Quick saves overwrite, but there' no way to write over existing saves, give them names, or delete.

Deleting can be done outside the game using Windows or with the mod. I hope CDPRed will let us do these things in some patch since I like to name my saves ('danger,' 'okay,' 'hurt,' 'temp,' etc) and reuse them, but I doubt anything will change.
Not a real fix, but this is very helpful:
