Sorry if this has been asked. I recently saw a retail boxed copy of the Witcher 2 with a version 2 sticker. I was tempted to get it. But I held off, fearing that it has DRM. So, please, someone let me know whether this version has DRM on it. Thanks.

Also, would the retail box of the first Witcher: Enhanced Edition contain any DRM?

Version 2 should not have any DRM. It had DRM on release but that was patched out due to performance issues.

The first Witcher: Enhanced Edition doesn't contain any DRM either. It originally only had a cd check but that was removed with the final patch as well.
The Witcher 1 EE (the CD version at least) actually has Tages, which is installed, and then the Tages is removed from the game (but not uninstalled) later in the process. So for the CD version you actually have to uninstall the Tages drivers after installation is finished if you want it off your system completely (which you do). I'm not sure about the GOG version, but I would assume Tages has been removed completely for that one.

The box version of the Witcher 2 will likely have DRM initially, but it will get removed after patching (like above). I doubt any boxed copies install v2.0 at the start, but once it's patched you're good. The Steam version uses Steamworks, but doesn't have any additional DRM.
Thanks for the reponses.

So, patching the Witcher 2 would remove DRM from the game or from the PC?

And how would I uninstall Tages completely from my PC?
