I am about to buy a new computer and would like to make sure it will make Witcher 2 look the way it should look and then roll on to Skyrim. I have played the Witcher 2 on crap graphics that make it look like a You Tube video -- and I still loved the game.

My last computer rig did not do what I wanted it to do so I thought I would ask for expert opinions before I put my money down.

I am looking at a Radeon HD 6950 with 2 GB RAM.

Any opinions or ideas? Much thanks in advance.

Good choice; do you have enough power supply for it -- and at least a Phenom II x4 or Core i5 to feed textures to it?

Good point. I will make sure that I get that as well. It's nice to be in a position to start from the beginning.

I can vouche for that one. I've got two and an i5 at 3.1 Ghz and even 1 of those 6950s can run everything turned on (except ubersampling) at 1280x1024 above 50 FPS at all times.

Wonderful. Looks like this time I won't be disappointed.

Thanks.
I have a 2500k and 6950. Its sweet and runs Witcher 2 without a hiccup.

Just get a crossfire ready motherboard and beefy power supply and you should be ok to go.

May I ask what your specs were previously? I have a GTX 275 and am wondering if it would harm my experience.

As usual it depends on your desired resolution and framerates.

But if you have a strong processor to go with the GTX 275 I think you will be fine.
