Does anyone know a simple solution to a launcher problem. I am afraid that I am not very technically savvy, and I see quite a lot of help here for launcher issues, but I am not getting any of the listed failed messages. My drivers are up to date. Download of the game worked well.
When I press the Witcher 2 desktop icon, the launcher starts just fine. I can open the game manual fine. Hitting play game, causes the launcher to minimize itself onto the bar at the bottom of my screen and a message pops up telling me to start the game through the launcher. Hitting the launcher button results in the launcher starting again but again the game won't play and I get the message to start the game from the launcher.
I am happy to wait till the patch, but I am not sure that this is a type of problem that can be patched. The weekend is coming up and I would really like to play the game.
Any advice from the computer savvy?
EDIT: I managed to solve the problem so I thought I would post to see if it helps someone else. I did have to tweak my anti-virus program as it was labelling TW2 high risk and medium risk. I then went into the files which for me are under programs files (x86)/gog.com/the witcher 2 and activated the patcher application.
Launcher works now but the game is sooooooo slow it is unplayable so I am off see if I can find a fix for that now.
