I recently re-installed my Windows and Witcher 2 along with it. I haven't finished the game yet so naturally I took backups of my old savegames. I've heard there are some compatibility problems when updating to the EE and continuing from old saves so I was wondering if there's any way to prevent the game from updating to the EE?
Whenever I try to start the game it asks for cd-key and immediately starts downloading the EE patch, I just can't think of a way to stop it.

Can you stop it from accessing the internet? Either by disconnecting your internet or blocking it with firewall rules.

Tried bypassing the launcher by starting the game using the witcher2.exe in the witcher2/bin folder ?
