Raggit: edit2: here's the trick for quickly deleting the corrupted file - chose the delete option without confirming it. instead, you drag the confirmation box to a handy spot where you can quickly get your pointer on it after pressing retry with the patcher. if done in the right way, it takes less than 1 second. unless your hard drive was super fast, you should have no difficulty doing that.
Raggit: Heh, that's what I've been doing. But as I've said, there is no time at all for me to confirm the delete. It pops back up immediately. I'm going to try to replace a different files manually as you suggested, seems like my best option... If this doesn't work , I'm just going to uninstall, then reinstall the whole thing from scratch. If I install it from scratch, the file on GoG should automatically include the EE, right?
seems like you are still unclear about how my solution works. I'm just going to explain it with an example.
say that pl0.w2strings is so large it has to be contain in both TW2EE_Patch-18.bin and TW2EE_Patch-19.bin, which, somehow, were both corrupted. When the patcher stopped and alerted you that pl0.w2strings was corrupted, you discovered and re-downloaded 18 using my suggestion. However, since 19 is also corrupted, later the patcher would stop and alert you again that pl0.w2strings was till corrupted. then you went back to 2) and repeat the whole process. eventually, you would find out that this time, it was 19 that needed to be re-downloaded.
as to the quick response of your computer, are you running a high end one? try stalling your system by running some large scale applications simultaneously, preferably 3D games or active p2p downloading.
I corrected all corruption issue with my solution and did not have to download the whole new ee version installer, so can't comment on this one.
