Akka: I'm sorry ?
You're going to say that TW2 interface is the same one as TW1 ?

... Okay...
No just the only real difference is that TW1 interface uses grid , that's it.

TW2 interface works great, except for inventory. I have yet to see a game with a huge number of items that has a truly efficient inventory though. Grids are not the panacea people make them out to be.

The quick menu that you can pop up, combined with the time slow down, is very effective. Pop it up, click on what you want, get back to the fight. What's the problem?

That makes it a whole lot different. That's how a PC rpg inventory is supposed to be.

Do you really want to micromanage a grid of 200 different items, though? There are a lot of items, and a lot more than you can carry than the first game. Different armors and swords were rare enough in the first game that it never really became a problem, but you have tons of both in Witcher 2, in addition to a ton of crafting materials.

Yeah, maybe the interface isn't perfect. The interface from the first would be absolute hell in this game, though. It'd take ten minutes to find anything in the mess of it all.

I had a lot more items in WoW and I managed it just fine. Imagine the hell it would have been if wow used this scrolling inventory. TW2 is not special when it comes to the amount of loot. There have been plenty of computer rpgs with much more loot which were easy to manage because of the grid system.

The only reason why TW2 didn't use the grid system is because it's a hell to use with a gamepad. CDP could have made 2 different layouts like the guys of Torchlight did but they didn't bother.

I've never played Torchlight or WoW and my experiences with the grid system are of the Planescape/Baldur's Gate/Deus Ex varieties, so I can't imagine how that would work. Nonetheless, if you say there's a way, then it does make me wonder about the interface.

Still, people are taking small concerns and blowing them up into larger issues. The game is so much more than a UI, and it seems as though plenty of people are forgetting that.

I love the game, the only problem I have is the UI. Is not a trivial one though because you do spend a lot of time with your inventory. And the fact that the mouse is laggy on menu because it's software based makes things worse. This is the second time I've played a rpg in PC with this kind of mouse acceleration. The first one was FFXIV and everybody knows that it had the worse overall UI for kb/m.
