What does dof stand for???
Depth of Field.

It works fine on my GTX 460 as well.
yep, no problems here as well. gtx460 with latest beta drivers. btw, did anyone notice that the game has a setting called
AllowSharpen
in the user.ini. Even when setting the game on ultra it always stays off, meaning it's set to 0
Allowsharpen=0
When I turn it on, the game looks 2x better and I don't loose any frames.
Is there something I don't know, why is that turned off ?

It's enabled when you turn on antialiasing, to compensate for the blur caused by that option. Ultra probably doesn't have it on since it isn't needed when uber sampling is on.
Intel Quad Q8400, Nvidia Geforce 9800GTX+, 1.1 patch with DOF working just fine. The game had my first CTD with the patch installed, though.

I have the GOG version and i'm not seeing any noticeable improvements. Maybe a little less hiccups but that may be placebo effect.

DOF working here.............
Same here, could be that I haven't found the right spots though.

I did notice that settings got reset to low. But after resetting everything, both DOF and motion blur work.
I can confirm DOF works for me after patch. I backed up my User.ini before applying the patch cause I had a feeling it would get wiped and sure enough, after patch, everything was reset to low.
Turned everything back to highest possible (apart from uber of course), for the life of me if gameplay DOF is working i can't tell any difference between off or on.

Maybe it is working but i can't see it.

I even tried uninstalling the game to go back to the old version to test it BUT during activation it auto downloaded the newest patch :(

That shouldnt happen, I dont think. The activation process applies something called the "activation patch", but its not the new version patch.

At least, thats how it works with the GOG version. When I reinstall that (as I just have a couple times), I still have the old version.
The only place I've tried is at the camp in the beginning, though it's clear that it's not being rendered.

What's really weird is that there is a performance hit if it is turned on, which is normal, though the effect doesn't show up, which is not normal.

Talazemico: AARGH GOD DAMNIT!!!!!!!!!!!!!
why do they break everything? seriously CD projectis fucking failing big time
This really isn't consoling to you but I remember Bioware's patches for their patches or something?? PC's come in more sizes then small, medium or large!!
all of my settings were reset including subtitles, volume settings etc. etc.
most annoying.

i also seem to be lacking depth of field from what i can tell. at least it appears slightly different.
not sure its affecting anything in my cutscenes though.
