Games launches, credits role, intro movie plays... rains starts.. NO VIDEO.
Set quietly enjoying "listening to my new game", and suddenly I have video as Geralt is in prison... I get to watch choppy interactive video, select a couple answers and then poof!
Back to no video cut scene again...

Ok, so I realize I have an ATI card and this is taboo these days in games.. but REALLY?
Anyone have a solution so I can play?!

Changed desktop to 1024x768
Set all graphic settings to lowest and/or disabled.
Didn't change a thing...
Uninstalled graphic drivers, rebooted, reinstalled... nada!
Uninstalled antivirus, rebooted, nada!

Uninstalling game, going to retry downloading.
If that doesn't work I've now lost about 6 hours of time screwing with this...
How do I get a refund from GOG!???

I have the same problem.

though I think I'm slightly below the requirements.. I have a radeon X1950 which i'm not sure if its up to par... Anyhoo at very low settings I can also see geralt in the dungeon and it's pretty smooth when he's there, but it freezes up at everything else.

I"m hoping i can play this at low settings if it's possible to get around the black screens!

I have a Radeon X1900.. not below specs according to everything I've seen...

I have a Radeon X1950 and almost the same problem - except I don't see anything at all after the intro movie, ever.

I have a ATI card and I solve the problem by disabling anti-aliasing in CCC.

By the way, I found this trick reading the Readme file :P

what if i dont have CCC installed?

I tried getting the newest drivers with CCC and disabling antialiasing and the same thing happens. It might be specific to the X series...

I have the same problem. Playing with mac via boot camp, 2x3ghz intel xeon and ATI Radeon X1900, 4GB ram.

I'm not expecting great graphics, but this is the first time this happens to me.

The X series cards are 5-6 years old, its well past time for an upgrade.

Installed latest CCC, disabled all options as suggest...
using an X1900... still same problem.
I can hear the video.. just can't see it.

I even reduced my desktop and game to 800x600.. still no help.

Another guy with ATI from the X series without video. Black screen all over. Tried various resolutions, disabled everything, tried playing around with various settings and nothing.
Then installed the newest legacy drivers from amd/ati site (from 2010), but still black screens before and after interrogation scene.
What about contacting AMD about this issue, maybe there's somebody willing to tweak the legacy drivers?


Oh, and for people who are so generous to offer us the advice to upgrade: would you care for financing a new machine for me (blink, blink) .
