I'm having a weird problem here. I just recently bought a new hard drive and did a fresh install of Windows 7 on it. I made sure I backed up the save files from the old HD, but when I try to put the saves in the Witcher 2 save file directory the game won't detect them. At all.

I know the saves are in the right place because when I start a new game and make a new save, the new save file appears in the same folder.

Could this be because I used an English language version of win 7 before, but now I have a Finnish version?

Please help, I really don't want to start the game again from the beginning.

May be a language thing, but first check your save files to make sure they're not write protected.

Have you tried adding them in one at a time? Might help to eliminate some possibilities.

Saves are not write protected, and adding them one at the time in the folder doesn't make any difference.

I'm guessing the .sav files store the path information inside them, so when I installed a different language of Windows it can't find the folder names because they are now different. :-/

Here's a random save of mine (also English language Win 7 / Witcher). See if you can see that.

You have to backup the whole Withcer 2 folder from "My Documents" - I think it is related with user account (the OS user) - when you switch the hard drive you get different hardware configuration ...
