My computer specs as follows:

Foxconn 2AD7
AMD Athlon 2 X2 260 dual-core
ATI Radeon 3000 integrated
NEC Multisync FE700 CRT max res 1920-1080, max refresh 120Hz
DDR3-1333
Internal 220W
All generic under the Hewlett-Packard label

I want to run The Witcher 2 - Assasins of Kings with bells and whistles. As it is, I can barely run it at a res of 640x480 - and at that I can't read the instructions or make out the objects.
Advise, please.

Dual core is fairly dated for gaming these days.

Integrated video isn't good for more than basic tasks, ie. surfing the web, playing flash games. If you want to run Witcher 2 you'll need a dedicated card.

Not sure how much ram you have (you stated type but not how much), I'd go for 4GB if you're on a 64-bit OS.

Best thing to do is to say how much you're willing to spend and get advice on builds from that. Honestly though, you'd probably be building from the ground up.

First I would like to know if there is any way to simply upgrade my computer as it is now - it is a HP Pavilion Slimline s5710f Desktop PC
Is it worth trying to upgrade for the Witcher 2?

Sorry, it's a total loss. This is one of the HP's that is so cheaply made they even failed to put a connector on the PCI-e x16 slot.

There's no slot, no room, and no power for adequate graphics in this little box.

All right - thanks for helping me settle this issue - I am looking at AMD setups on the ibuypower website.
All the advice is something I couldn't see clearly for myself.
I am really hot on this game, so I will start all over with a new PC.
