ALL mods are incompatible to v1.3, according to CDPR note on the patch page.

I actually did a fresh install because patch added so much stuff to /CookedPC that I couldn't know which were mod and which were new stuff from 1.3

I want that cool mod that makes Mage's Pants look like a plain BLACK leather pants working on 1.3 *sighs* ... way cooler! =)
CDPR is wrong. Only confirmed incompatibility are the UI mods. Most others work just fine.

That's an oversimplification, actually.

If you scroll through the comments near the bottom, they say that they don't test the fanmade mods. In addition to that, some have found that some of the mods still work. They just said all the mods don't work because they don't have time to test all of the mods and they're erring on the side of caution since there are a few that are confirmed to cause problems.

I didn't install the patch yet, because I am waiting on the new version of CEO (and hopefully Better Combat), but logically, I am 99,9% sure that texture mods have absolutely NO reason to be incompatible - unles they suddenly changed texture format, which kind of equals a cold day in hell.

I hope you mean my magic pants mod (elder blood), which is not plain black, but dark enough and would make me feel flattered and I urge you to try them (you can always remove a texture file again without anything sticking). :)

Edit: Now I patched and I can confirm that my White Wolf mod, my hunter armor and my gloves and pants work beautifully. Also no problem with the Remove intros except CDPR screen, the alternate dice and the bag instead of book mod. I was pretty sure about those, other mods I will add back in one by one. No UI mods of course and at least some xml mods might need updating, depending on which files CDPR changed. You certainly won't have any problem with any file ending in .xbm.

Yeah, it's just a 'better safe than sorry'-statement - since people can't seem to figure these things out themselves all the time, CDPR will just go out and say that everything's incompatible, just so they don't have to respond to bug reports that then turn out to be mod-related. I think. ;)

Most of the changes are scripting-related, or driver fixes etc. It's just a matter of taking a look at what type of mods you're using - CEO only changes item stats and availability, for example, so there aren't any compatibility issues there; I'm still making extra sure though, by going through the new default files just in case. Likewise with Better Combat, which changes abilities and such - 1.3 changes Quen and Adrenaline Generation rate (undocumented change), but Better Combat's changes should (at least it looks that way from my brief testing) simply override the vanilla values like normal. Like Audrey wrote, as well, texture mods are most likely not affected either.
