Just wondering if anyone else has experienced this. During a swordfight, with sword drawn I have no control over swinging sword or throwing bombs. Basicly Geralt can be moved about sword drawn but he will not swing it at any target. I can also not throw bombs I have in my quick slot.

Yes this has happened for me a couple of times. Last it was in Act 2 in the mine.

I pressed R to throw a grenade and suddenly the mouse doesn't control the view. I can walk with WASD but not press anything else.

The solution seem to be to get hit/damaged by an enemy then you will gain control again.
Pressing R again hangs the mouse controls again.... I selected another grenade and it worked after that.

I've just had a similar issue while playing through the prologue.
I'm just after the balista section, where the soldiers cut through the door and you enter the room with 5 enemy soldiers.

The controls just stop responding. I can get to the menu by hitting the escape key, but can't control Geralt. Reloading to a previous save doesn't fix it. Neither does restarting the game.

For me it also seems to be when I press R to throw a grenage that it happens. Getting hit seems to reset it but against multiple foes its a pain having to redo fight after fight because of this.

I can confirm this bug is happening to me too, and it's extremely annoying, especially since you tend to use bombs or such, and thus provoke the bug, against strong enemies, the ones who can kill you in two or three hits...

In my case, as soon as I use the mouse after say opening the map with "m" key, the whole game locks up.

I did manage to get to the ballista, but now the whole $50.00 + mess is just unplayable. I so wanted to play this game after having so much fun with the first one. I just don't get it. I guess I never will and if I hear uninstall/ reinstall about a non-functioning piece of gaming software once more, I think I'll scream.

I'd like to think I'm not an idiot when it comes to trying to deal with this stuff, but when I right click on the the launcher to even try compatibility mode to see if that works and my PC locks up what does that tell you. Something is wrong with the launcher maybe. Oh, I've done the driver thing and my PC meets spec and all that, but I am not happy. I have several saves that I will try to play and see if it works any better. It could be the DLC did a job on the game. I did get the Troll thing, but if that wasn't working properly then it shouldn't have been put up there in the first place. Sorry, I just had to vent.....

This bug happens to me regularly. It happens whenever I try to use an item while running in the middle of combat. I lose all control of my mouse and all I can do is run around with movement keys.

Yeah, just now happened to me in Act II, when fighting some rotfiends outside Henselt's camp.
In my case I couldn't use the heavy style, only the fast one...

^ happens when you stand near one of the corpses you have to burn . The game thinks rightclick=burn corpse (not allowed in combat) instead of heavy swing

eve with the 1.3 i am experiencing this issue.

The swords wont swing or sheath. All i can do is run around and cast magic... a very slow way to kill groups! I haven't used bombs etc and this happens to me quite a lot. Nothing seems to fix it other than cleaning ot the guys or reloading hte game.

Is it at least acknowledged by CD project does anyone know?

Even witht he latest version this still happens to me and I cant regain control unless I die (which clearly is usually the end result of not being able to attack!).

Anyone ever solve this??
