With my left-hand, I pretty much use Cursor keys (for movement); Insert row; and Delete Row.

My right-hand flies from mouse to num-pad a lot.
I use the num-pad for a lot of the important keys on the board.

The rest of the keys, they go anywhere else on the KB that I see fit - which usually my left-hand accesses. I usually don't use these keys as often or as much as what's on the other spots on the KB that I like (Insert row; Delete row; NumPad).

In any game whose demo I've ever tried: if there's keyboard-movement then it's automatically a game-stopper and I do not buy it.

This is ludicrous. It makes the game virtually unplayable, since you have to take such pains to negotiate your character and position him correctly, hoping he won't get killed in the mean-time. This also makes is extraordinarily difficult to target and attack your foes -- who are not even effectively identified.

Honestly, I think I'm returning the game tomorrow. Unfortunately, these issues cannot be fixed by patch, so if I return it then I won't buy this game again.

Sorry, ProjektRed. It looks like you've made a phenomenal game, but this interface issue destroys everything you've built.

Maybe asked before, but I'd really like to switch the button for pick up stuff/examine/talk/open doors/etc from left mouse to E. Probably a Fallout 3-thing :)
In the .ini-file for the controls I didn't find it listed anywhere, so where can I find (and edit) this?

Just patched the game and keybinding STILL broken.

Of course, you can bind arrow keys now, but you can't bind any other useful key for a left handed (0_Ins, Del, End , Pgup, etc...).

Warning: Your user.ini will be removed during installing patch 1.1 - and NUMBLOCK keybinding STILL NOT WORKING. So BACKUP YOUR INI before patching!

It is a new bug . They only fixed the arrows , not the numeric pad or other keys .

Does anyone know what is the Gamekey name currently associated with "Enter" ? (The one in the talent tree/ to "Accept" mutation for example etc etc)

Because i don't have "Return" key on my Keiboard, but two "Num pad Enter" (I know it's strange...)

I wish the NumPad was fixed...
I'd put most of the "Gameplay" section over there...

Still stuck on this: where can I change the 'interact'-key from LMB to something else? This really would make my day.

Also, why can't I use W and S instead of arrow keys in dialogues?

You forgot the Character, Inventory, Map, Meditation, Journal, Quick-Save, and Control Toggle keys.

Insert is bound to "Control Toggle" and can't be used or changed.

They should come up w/ a Control Toggle Key that we can make mappable anywhere else on the KB/mouse then. :P

And yes - I'd like to have separate keys for all those.
Plus, they should add a Quick-Load key.

Especially when the manual lists quick load as an option......

Found somewhat a solution for the problem. There is this freeware program http://www.autohotkey.com/download/ which allows you to rebind every key by using very simple scripts.

Here's how it all works (slightly edited Quick-start Tutorial):

1. Download and install AutoHotkey.
2. Right-click an empty spot on your desktop or in a folder of your choice.
3. In the menu that appears, select New -> AutoHotkey Script. (Alternatively, select New -> Text Document.)
4. Type a name for the file, ensuring that it ends in .ahk. For example: The Witcher 2.ahk
5. Right-click the file and choose Edit Script.
6. On a new blank line, type the following: 7. Save the file (no need to close it).
8. Double-click it and the program will open automatically and will activate your script.
9. From now on, when you press 'x' it will act like you pressed 'y'. Simple as that.
9. To deactivate the script you can just close the program.

More practical example (my script): 'Q' will now open quest / journal, 'E' — equipment / inventory, 'Tab' — map. '~' before Tab means that its native function will not be blocked, so I would be able to AltTab.

The program also supports mouse wheel rebinding but it doesn't seem to work properly in the game (works fine in Windows). Probably because 'mouse wheel hotkeys generate only down-events (never up-events)'.
