And, if so... Where in the city is he located? Or is he somewhere outside the city? I've got the trap maker and armor crafter showing up on my map, but those are the only little crafting wrenches I'm seeing.

Yes. Off hand, I want to say northern section near pervert sorceress' house. Pretty sure he had a crafting icon. He's definitely not near the row merchants.

Edit: Oh, you're looking for someone who sells swords, rather than makes them? I'll double check. Never actually bought a weapon at any point, so not sure.

Second Edit: Yup, dwarf up by the pervert's house. Sells swords, as well as crafting diagrams.

There are two blacksmiths, and an elven weapons vendor. The elf is just outside the gate during the day, and the two blacksmiths are up the steps in different directions from the platform in front of the inn.

Just check your map for the crafting icon. (although, you have to progress a tiny bit into chapter 2 to get access to all of them).

Ahh, that would be the reason!

Thanks very much- I'll keep the location in mind and play through further. I love this place.

The one blacksmith is available as soon as you are let loose in the city, but you might not be able to find him at night, as he'll be in the house sleeping. The Elven weapon vendor wont be accessible until the gates of the city are opened.
