I'm really torn between whether I should put points into dagger throwing. I just didn't see it as something that would be worth it, since we have quite a few ranged abilities with our signs. (I'm creating a Swords character)

But what do you guys think? Is putting the 2 points into throwing daggers worth it? What are the pros/cons of using throwing daggers? And, is it better to use for Mages, Alchemists or Swordsmanship characters?

its ok, good for giving them a bit of damage before they get to you but its not great.
I've read elsewhere they're OP, the guy probably had two levels in it.

I've one level and it's come in useful, used it in the fight against Letho. Problem with daggers is they're not retrieveable - once thrown, *poof*. You'd have to get into crafting them, I think, as finding throwing knives is not common.

I like bombs better, frankly, but so far I haven't seen one foe able to avoid/block daggers, and with that extra +20% damage they may very well be worth the point investment.
Dagger throwing feels almost like cheating. It's VERY powerful. It's like having a machine gun. Two points on the dagger throwing will allow you to kill big monsters easy from the safe distance. The only reason it's not a cheat because their quantity is limited.

****SPOILER******

I.e. you can defeat Letho in the chapter 1 without talking a scratch.

Don't think it's worth it. They are expensive, and a hassle to craft (you need to get someone to craft it). OP they are but it's not quite fun as throwing bomb imo.

Put 2 points in Alchemy (100% bomb damage)!! And craft your own bomb. Not only it hurts, incinerate, and stun, it does AOE! One Dancing star (is that the name?) and I burn up the whole mob.

Daggers are useful in a strategy where you use them after a trap, knock back or blocking (with Dancing Star flames etc). Letting you do some good damage before they close the gap. I have found it useful as an opening shot to essentially kite a monster away from its group (I hate Nekker swarms). Just using a cheapy rusty dagger is often enough to thin the herd.

I use them sparingly because of the costs and I do prefer a bit of sword use. And Bombs are easier and generally cheaper to produce. Less weight too.
There is a quest where throwing daggers is a required skill, i gues 1 point should be enough for that.
