BlazeKING: Thats why I never went to Windows Vista or 7...never had any problems with XP ..not with GOG, steam or anything really

Coelocanth: I highly doubt it's Win7. I've installed tons of GOG games on my 64 bit Win7 rig with no issues.
same here. given the complete lack of information, it's probably something more likely to do with PEBKAC than windows.

i would also like to note that now that i'm on 7, there is no way i'll ever go back. xp lovers need to move one. it was great in its time, but that time has gone.

JO11190: For all those "XP is best". Yeah. Enjoy it while it's worth it. For info, Mico$oft don't produce updates to it anymore. I mean, it's not supported, and less and less companies will support it....Not a good idea long term.
Actually, they do. I have a networked system of two machines: one Win7 and one XP. The XP rig still receives updates.

FALSE. Do not spread FUD.

Microsoft has not announced any date for end of support for Windows XP SP3. There are so many corporate users of XP who are never going to "upgrade" to Windows 7 that they dare not.

You may have been confused by Microsoft's announcement of the end of support for XP SP2. All that means is that XP users must install SP3 to continue to receive updates.

luckylogan: I cannot activate the game. I have downloaded Witcher 2 four times now on wired and wireless connection. I get the same error on patcher "installed game version is invalid or incomplete" Yes I installed with UAC off, firewall off, antivirus disabled on Windows 7 64bit.

I'll never buy another game from gog. I have bought 50 or so games from steam and never had a problem. I sent an email to gog tech support and never got a response.

RageGT: GoG's version is already patched! That's why your version is INVALID! And activation is a problem with server for any version, not GoG's. Hope you can play the fraking game and enjoy it soon! Once you're into it, you'll never remember these petty issues again!
I wouldn't call it PETTY!! Its a legit complaint but obviously he's frustrated and over reacting!!

NEVER Again?? You have a bad sexual experience so you will NEVER again have another NOW thats petty, absurd and ri-dick-ulous!!

If it activates fine for a lot of people and you are the one having problems it is your machine, not GOG.

Really, THAT was the reason you had the foresight to see all this and you decided to stay with XP...I applaud you...you prophet of mankind!!

I just wanted a faster machine, more memory more storage and DX11..I am so dumb!! I can still play antique games on my Win7 though!!

No this game wasn't the reason..I'm saying I never had any problems with it, so why upgrade? When games stop being released for XP, I'll upgrade. There isn't anything in Vista or 7 that really makes me want to upgrade.

Windows 7 64-bit for RAM over 4 Gigs is a much better OS than XP. I loved XP and never went Vista but Seven is a smart move! =)
i preloaded the bin files a week ago, and tried to install the game after getting the exe and extra bin fine yesterday.

installed mostly fine but with an error popup.

patch wouldn't work.

registration wouldn't work.

bollocks.
