Hello, what are these good for? Can I take them to someone? Or is just another junk filling my inventory?

Pretty sure it's just useless junk taking up wasted inventory space as far as I could tell.
you can read them by double clicking in the inventory.
One of them seems to have information about the Wild Hunt which Geralt brings up in a conversation - not sure if reading it is necessary to make him say that. But other than some backstory to the quest they don't really do anything.
The Witcher 2 game guide states that the file about the Wild Hunt triggers another conversation about the Wild Hunt with Vernon Roche. It didn't for me though. So maybe I brought this up before in conversation with Vernon before, or it simply doesn't work

You can talk to Roche about them, he doesn't say anything meaningful. Also they reveal SPOILERS that mother of the governor was one of the victims and that is why sniffing fisstech (plus know the 2 guys who gave the quest.).

I think I can see my mistake there. I chose another ending for that quest - I wont tell any spoilers now, let's just say I solved the matter directly at the hospital. I did try the other ending, first. And there you encounter the mother of Loredo.

I guess that would've triggered the right dialogue choice with Roche. But I reloaded and chose the other ending, thus there is simply no dialog choice for this conversation.

Good to know though, that there is always a little more extra-content for a second playthrough with different decisions (not to mention the whole-different act 2). :)
To me the more, umm, abrupt solution was better justice served.....

That seemed kinda strange to me.
If that had been the case, those 2 guys at the ruins should have been like... OLD.
Where as they looked about the same age as Loredo.

To me they looked older. Let's say they where young when they were stationed as soldiers - 20 years old maybe. So now they're 50. The woman may have been older back then, having been a pation for some time already. Maybe 30. Now she's 60.

People age differently, too. I know a guy who is 42 yet looks like he's mid-20. Some people look older then they are.

Huh... I thought Rupert looked old but Gridley on the other hand looked like a young lad.

Maybe he was lying about his age when he enlisted...just like this fellow: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Abraham_Simpson
