Since apparently my machine cannot handle the button mashing required at the beginning of the siege (where you pour the oil on the attackers) I beg someone who has a machine that can! Please help me out, and save right after.

There are a bunch of people around so you can't quicksave, but basically what happens is that the oil spills over, then a little cutscene where Dethmold gets through and Geralt and everyone falls back behind the second gate. That should be where that autosave starts from.

EDIT: If you want, you can watch this Youtube video I found from 2:09 to 4:19 to see what you missed. Most of that time is spent with unnecessary fighting so you're not really missing two minutes of stuff happening :)
