I am having a hard time finding the mechanism for the oil, it looks like the object is perpendicular to the way it should be placed. The opposite side has the correct position. I cannot activate the mechanism and therefore cannot continue.

This is a problem that occurs when you use a pre-EE save on an EE-patched game. Going all the way back to Chapter 1 and playing through again may fix it, but I haven't had anyone confirm that yet since no one is really willing. Another fix is to download the 2.0 critical rebuild from here (~4 gigs), play through that particular section, and then repatch to EE.

The last, much lazier and hassle-free option (if I do say so myself) is to download my pack of saves, all level 1 and with one of the saves being an autosave the wheel part. Since they're all at level 1, you can build up your character the way he was in your game, though the items will obviously be different than in your playthrough.
