edit: Figured out the launcher problem.

After setting my Windows desktop resolution to 1920x1440 or below before launching the game, I can now play in fullscreen at 2560x1600.

Windows 7 64
Nvidia GTX570

If I'm running Windows in 2048x1536 or 2560x1600, the game won't work in fullscreen at any resolution.

Those who are playing, do you have witcher2.exe in the /bin folder? Cause I used to, but now it is gone. Perhaps that is the problem?
Darn, just had to watch the intro windowed :(
Hope the devs fix this soon.

Otherwise - stunning graphics, nice voice acting, I'm gonna enjoy this one :D

I am also using a 30" monitor at 2560*1600 and i can confirm that this workaround works for me as well.

I can confirm this at least on my part. I cannot launch the game in fullscreen while in my native desktop resolution, but if I change it to e.g. 1920x1200, it launches just fine.

Seriously, this is supposed to be a PC game. What gives?

i too can confirm dropping your desktop res will enable you to run the game fullscreen @ highest res.

I'm running a GTX460 1GB w/ an 8800GT 512MB for physx. Win7 x64 & Dell U2711 (2560x1440)

dropping res to 1920x1080 allowed me to run the game fullscreen @ 2560x1440. Crazy.
If i have my desktop @ native res the game won't run.
Same problem, the game does not start with a 2560x1440 resolution on my iMac 27', i7 3GHz, 8GB ram, ATI r5750 1GB

No error, only goes back to launcher
Same here, ATi card and it only works in window. Fullscreen just returns me to the launcher. 2560*1440.
Exactly the same for me, AMD 5850, native res is 2048*1152. Can't believe "full-screen mode on an AMD card" is something that slipped past QA before shipping...

It's not just on ATI cards. My issues persists with GTX460. It's about the native desktop resolution. Apparently the game doesn't like it beyond 1920x
It looks like the game doesn't like multi-monitor setups. You have to disable any other monitors & TV's and just have the one active and then it will launch. It doesn't like Eyefinity either even though that is classed as 1 monitor as far the OS is concerned. It also only launches at 1920 x 1080 or less on my 1920 x 1200 monitor.

My monitor is a 1600x900 monitor and I still have the same problem, I can't play the game in windowed mode or full screeen, it jus stays on the Withcher medallion logo and does nothing.
With the same problem, I decided to uninstall and redownload. When that's finished I'll try lowering my RES as well. Have SyncMaster305T at 2560x1900 at the mo. Will give update if it works. Same goes for SLI configuration... (Everything x-ed)
Just got this post through Facebook: http://www.geforce.com/#/News/articles/r275-driver
Will try that as well, although I just updated to the latest certified drivers last week...
Lowering Desktop res to 1920x1200 seems to work. Now how's gameplay.... ;-)
