I'm fine with it as well, but there IS a problem that was already mentioned: as the analog sticks don't work in menus at all now, there is no way to scroll the right side of the menus (quest text, pretty much any journal stuff) with a gamepad.

As the keyboard still isn't entirely configurable (can't use my leftie-mirrored ESDF setup, PLÖÄ), looks like I'll be waiting for yet another patch for my 2nd playthough.

edit: uh, that radial menu problem is pretty damn annoying as well (can only use the d-pad to choose a sign/item).

I did read what you wrote and i have no problem just moving my right hand to my mouse wheel to scroll through my journal entries.

Yeah i know... and you would also know that i know if you would have bothered and read the whole topic... as i have mentioned that little workaround before (but it still does not eliminate the issue)!!! With v1.1 gamepad is not viable standalone control method as it was with v1.0!

But i am responding to people who are acting like its the end of the world and its game breaking, which is complete rubbish .

Can i see it being a little bit annoying.....sure, but its not the most major problem to start throwing your toys out the pram for.

I am sure they will fix it and in the mean time i will carry on enjoying playing the game with my game pad.

It makes the quick select during combat for signs and traps a lot more cumbersome than it was before.

The way it was implemented previously was one of my favorite features in the game.

Plus, I HATE the D-pad on the 360 controller - it's not comfortable to use and isn't sensitive enough. A quick flick of the analogue stick was so much more intuitive than having to scroll up and down now.

It's not terrible but it's a lot less user-friendly and more time consuming.

For people that are depending on gamepad as standalone control method... this bug is game-breaking!

Here's some advice from a blind fanboy in response to my complaint:
"I am just capable of moving my right hand to my mouse wheel to scroll text. Try it you may surprise yourself in the things you can achieve in life. "

Ha ha never mind Simplex if you are unable to play the game now, just don't forget to get your mommy to feed and dress you later, or you will be very angry.

This topic is about voicing concerns / finding solutions / discussing broken gamepad functionality in v1.1!!!

@bod33 problems with a game should be voiced not dismissed... so they can be fixed in future!

Listen NINJ4R4BBID, i am not dismissing the problems.

As Vitor stated a few posts above, the sign selecting is a bit annoying now and i do hope they fix these issues in a future patch. Its the way people express their frustrations need to be toned down a bit.

The game is not boken by any means. If you just can't play the game the way the gamepad is than thats sad as we all agree what a fantastic game this is, and i hope it is fixed for you soon.

RE: Sign selection - it was not that easy with the pad BEFORE the patch IMO, It should be more like Mass Effect / Assassins Creed where the actual analogue position related to a sign, rather than scrolling though them in order.
