I suppose it comes under the general heading of the patch 2.1 issues, though I haven't seen this particular problem reported so far. TW2 ran fine for me all the way till 2.0. Since patch 2.1 however, every time I use the "Launch game" option, the launcher menu disappears, the wolf graphic shows up as normal but the game does not load. There's no crash, no error message, nothing. It just gets stuck. I checked that the game's process does not even appear in the task manager - it's as if the launcher won't even try to actually launch the game.

I checked TW2 tech support forums and they mentioned several post 2.1 problems and possible fixes:
- Reinstalling .NET Framework 4 (tried it - doesn't change a thing)
- Uninstalling browser toolbars (uninstalled - as above)
- Disabling or updating Kaspersky antivirus (don't use it, tried to launch the game with antivirus disabled though - no effect)
- Changing some file related to Adobe Acrobat Pro 9 Extended (don't use it and don't have this file)

Basically, 2.1 seems to be a pretty terrible patch - dunno if it improved anyone's experience but it did seem to break the game completely for quite a number of people. I've been patient so far, believing that for the EE patch CDP will either fix the issue or revert that part of the game code to it's pre-2.1 state. Guess I was overly optimistic...
If anyone had a similar issue and managed to resolve it somehow, I'd really appreciate some help. I'd love to see the enhanced content but alas :(

PS. I'd love to post this issue on CDP's forums as well, but I can't log in (even though I'm 99% sure I got the right username/password) and when I use the forgotten password recovery option, I get a message that a mail was sent to me... but it never arrives (and no, it's not in the spam folder either). All those technical glitches are really getting annoying.
Same problem here. I figured the unpatched EE would not have this problem. But it does and I already got rid of my version 2.0 files, so now I have to find a solution or not play.

I suggest you do what I did. Go here:

Near the top right of the page should be a button that says "Support" Click that and then scroll all the way down to the bottom of the page. There is yellow text and a yellow button that says, "Still nothing? Contact us" At least that's what it says in english. It will bring up a form to fill out. Fill the whole thing out and give them a detailed account of your problem, including all the things you tried that didn't work. I am currently waiting for someone to get back to me. But it's better than sitting around spinning your wheels, asking everyone on here for help when it seems that very few of us have this problem and that even fewer of us haven't been able to find a solution yet.
