Hi. I finished both playthrough (Roche & Iorwerth). I did not listen to the soundtrack previously not to spoil myself. Surprisingly the game music didn't hit regularly when you were playing the game.

After completed listening to all the soundtrack i wanted to say i'm speechless. It's freaking awesome!. Loved every single track. I just like an in game GUI option that i can select ANY soundtrack during the game and play the soundtrack anytime anywhere.

Don't flame me if you don't like this idea. You don't have to use it if you don't like it yeah.

It's not bad idea, although not a priority. The music is awesome.
The soundtrack is flawless! Built-in 'player' would be nice as a later addition :)

You know what else would be amazing? Another 'inspired by' OST. I admit I love it more than the original TW1 soundtrack :'D

All the soundtracks are just awesome.. It's only a little short if i would mildly criticize.
I also love the soundtrack, I always invariably end up listening to the soundtrack front to end, twice over before I get tired of it, and then that only lasts a few hours.

IMO, it's one of the most marvelous OST's to ever grace a video game :)

What was that about, anyway? Like... what did it technically mean by "inspired by"? Were some of the notes the same, or were they songs that were written in dedication to parts of the game or something? Never really understood what that was about, though it made for some great listening.

I'm sure some of the members of this forum (and the new official Witcher forum once it's up) have some experience with music. Maybe we can all collaborate and make one ourselves?

No idea - I was surprised when I got it with my game. I think they simply let musicians write songs inspired by the Witcher universe, unrelated to the game soundtrack. The whole disc is varied enough (for better or worse, there's that one metal tracks that grates on my ears every time...)

I'll be cheering on this might-be project from the corner, I'm afraid music fairy forgot to pay me a visit when I was born :P
Are the lewd songs (such as "Plough 'em all" and the Odrin-and-friends special) in the OST? Those songs make me laugh.

Nope. We should poke them about releasing an extended OST. A lot of great in-game tracks aren't featured.
The stealth music was among my favorite.
There was a thread awhile back about how to rip all the music from the game using some special tool.

Didn't work for me, sadly, but others seemed to have better luck. Someone should really unpack all the music, re-encode to mp3 or flac, and release it for everyone.

Doubt the lewd songs would be in there, but at least we could get the unreleased songs in mp3 format.

EDIT: Someone actually did that, it looks like. Last post:

This gets my vote. :) With the Witcher 1, all of its music files were conveniently located as .ogg files that could be played with my music player, but in TW2, they're all encrypted. I'd love to be able to play the rest of TW2's music while I'm at work.

EDIT: Oops, I missed 227's post right above me! /doh That thread has a link to a bunch of additional music. :)
