It seems that you're using an outdated browser. Some things may not work as they should (or don't work at all).
We suggest you upgrade newer and better browser like: Chrome, Firefox, Internet Explorer or Opera

As shown in the attachment.

The options to deselect the voiceover packs are greyed out. I already downloaded the stuff I wanted using the preloader, I don't speak french or german, why are you wasting 2gb of my disc space?

Same here :S Was hoping to cut off some gigabytes.
This may be too late if you've already installed the update by now, but I'd assume you could just delete the language pack files from the patch folder before you load the installer, for whatever languages you don't want installed.

I say this only because, for whatever reason, I was missing the .EXE files for all the available language packs, so when I manually started the patcher I actually had NO language choices to choose from (i.e. they were all greyed out and all unchecked). Grabbing the correct .EXE from http://en.thewitcher.com/ee_manual fixed this.

i had the same thing. just removed the files from the game directory, checked if the game still runs and then deleted them for good. odd thing for sure.
Where are they located?
C:\Program Files (x86)\GOG.com\The Witcher 2\CookedPC\sounds was the logical place but no.

C:\Program Files (x86)\GOG.com\The Witcher 2\bin\config\lang was my 2nd idea but that's just a bunch of ini files.
Just look in the "...\The Witcher 2\CookedPC" folder.

I moved the following files to a backup folder:
* de0.w2speech
* de0.w2strings
* fr0.w2speech
* fr0.w2strings
