It seems that you're using an outdated browser. Some things may not work as they should (or don't work at all).
We suggest you upgrade newer and better browser like: Chrome, Firefox, Internet Explorer or Opera

Hey,

I just bought The Witcher 2, but whenever I try to add the game to the GOG downloader nothing happens. The box pops up saying an application is trying to launch and I allow it, but nothing appears in the GOG downloader.

My browser is Chrome and the GOG downloader is the latest version.

Any help would be GREATLY appreciated. =)

Please try adding the game from a different browser and let us know if that changed anything.

I just tried firefox and IE 8. With firefox same problem as chrome, nothing happens, but with IE 8 two error boxes appear that say:

"gogdownloader://the_witcher_2_assassins_of_kings_au/is not a valid Win32 application."

and

"Unable to open this helper application for gogdownloader://the_witcher_2_assassins_of_kings_au/

The protocol specified in this address is not valid. Make sure the address is correct, and try again."

I've also tried deleting and redownloading the launcher, no luck there.

We still haven't nailed this down (browsers are varied and temperamental creatures...), but please try this support article, last point:

Opening it inside of the RAR file worked! Thanks for the help, very much appreciated =)
FIXX FOR DOWNLOADER:

navigate to
vista/7 C:\Users\<USER DIRECTORY\AppData\Local\Google\Chrome\User Data
on xp its userdire\appdata i believe

open local state in notepad or a text editor

use find to find mailto or protocol_handler

find "gogdownloader": true,
change true to false
if its not there already its a different issue

Hi. I have bought Witcher 2 after reading some good things in the reviews section. However, I haven't been able to download the game, with or without the gog.com downloader. With the downloader, after 2 GB, it says "checksum error 33. Please contact support.!" Can you help me? I would be grateful if you would.
