I have learned about the controversy about The Witcher in Australia and I do not understand the controversy...
They have cut down one sex scene (juste one) and not the other, and there are many xD (if I have well understanded the problem) just because in this scene there is "sex as reward". This is a strange choice at my point of view....
They considered this scene immoral but they did not cut off the other sex scenes, the violence, the language...

What do you think aboutthat?

PS: sorry for my english...I am french xD
Mate, im an Australian. I will tell you now, even Australians do not understand the logic behind the Australian Classification Boards.

The issue has been brought up time and time again for years, but the government ignores it because they think computer games are only played by 8 year olds who like pokemon.

Mate, Pokemon is pretty violent if you think about it. As far as I know, dog fighting is illegal in Australia but sex isn't... weird.

But what can I say, I'm in Germany, here they censor exploding body parts and blood... so head shots in video games tend to look slightly less undesirable than they are in reality. Some politicians are probably going to regret this when the current generation grows up, never having seen the damage a firearm does to a body, and using them instead of eggs or tomatoes or shoes because they look more "cool"...
I think they censored that part just so it looks like they are doing their job.

I doubt the censorship board played the whole game, I think they made their decision based on what the developers submitted in writing and videos. So they saw "sex as a reward" and said no go. Sex with your girlfriend Triss and hookers at a brothel? OK no worries.

Also they don't like examples of drug taking in games but when you drink potions isn't it similar? Your body is enhanced for a while and and there is a temporary level of toxicity.

I hope to see some kinky elf and dwarf sex in the next installment or DLC.

I'm amazed that the RSPCA (Australia's version of PETA) haven't had Pokemon banned cos it promotes animal cruelty (stuffing living creatures into little balls)

Quick off-topic question: is the RSPCA in Australia the same organisation as the RSPCA in the UK? Because if so, you have no idea how bad PETA is.

RSPCA is nothing like PETA, and it is practically the same as the one in the UK.
