Hi all,

I've seen a number of threads about DLC installation and administrator privileges. However, solutions I've found listed, such as in this thread don't cut it for me.

So far, all the solutions I've found include playing the game as administrator (with "run as admin") in order to be able to benefit from the DLC, as there doesn't seem to be a way to activate it to be available for the limited user account.

I really don't intend to be playing the game as admin(*) (and having to start the launcher as admin and type the admin password everytime i launch the game, no thanks...), so it'd be nice if it was actually possible to activate the DLC for a limited user account, and if somebody could tell me how to.

Thanks in advance.

(*) there's no reason a game should require admin privileges to run, and even more when it's just for a tiny DLC...

It's a W7 / VIsta thing. Not TW2's fault.

It'd be the way the activation of the DLC is implemented.

However, I surely should have tried by myself instead of just reading the threads for a "non-admin" solution; indeed, even though I apparently couldn't find a way to activate it for my limited user account, it seems having activated it on the admin account (by running the launcher as administrator) is enough to have the quest in game when running without administrator rights (it still doesn't show as installed in the DLC menu on the limited user account, but I've been able to take the quest at the inn, strangely).

Note for others who'd try to get it the same way, I've "registered" the game to the same account on both the limited user account and the admin account, and I've the troll.dlc file in both users' Witcher 2 downloads directory; that might be needed for it to work, dunno.
