Same here, it sometimes happens to me when combat gets very hectic and I try to use a bomb. The mouse will stop working properly and I can only run in one direction. If I save and load I can't move and only ESC and mouse look works.

In investigating this problem I realized that most of my controls don't work before the part that freezes me, stuff like sheath and switch weapons. In fact I haven't been able to switch swords since you first draw your silver sword.
I saw another thread with this same problem but in different parts of chapter 1 and 2. Seems to be triggering in different situations for other people. And yes i have tried every conceivable variable possible in and out of game. Might just restart the whole game and see if that works.

Travis2, try going back out that load door. The one behind the citadel that overlooks the city. Try interacting with stuff, plants you haven't harvested, make some potions, then rest and meditate for 24 hrs. See if that straitens things back out.

I've had this happen, I've also had the camera lock and all input except movement disabled in the middle of combat. The only way to break this was apparently to let them hit me. Maybe it'll be fixed in the next patch. It seemed to happen most when I was trying to use skills mapped to the R key (bombs, knives)

Victory is Mine! I have beaten the prologue after several days of playing lol
Ok so after trying everything to get the game working from the point I was at, I tried restarting. What worked was loading a previous save. For anyone wondering with the same problem, I had to load a save at the beginning of the mission that was bugged which was unfortunately meant replaying the last 30-40 mins but it worked.
Still not exactly sure when the problem started because the games controls can be unresponsive even when working properly.
so basically just keep going back in your massive save log and find one that works, maybe thats why we have saves that cant be overwritten
