Has anyone using Windows 10 managed to get The Witcher 2 to launch? If so how.

Nothing happens when I try, either through the GOG Galaxy, or from clicking Launcher in the folder its installed in.

Programs not starting with no explanation/visual sign is usually down to security software preventing proper launch, assuming you have all the other essentials installed/enabled, like DirectPlay etc. Check you antivirus, firewall, Windows Defender etc.

I have DirectPlay downloaded and running, but still doesn't work.

Everytime I try to get .NET Framework 3.5 I end up with an installation error. I go through the Control Panel, Programs, Turn Windows Features On or Off menu. Do I need it?

Also in the compatibility tab of the game file, do I need it to run on a previous operating system or change other settings?

That can't be it. My previous computer from five years ago runs it with Windows 8 and far inferior stats. Just have to lower the graphics quality to get it to run.

The game should load up something on my newer computer. The firewall is not blocking anything, I turned it off completely to test it out, still didn't work. There are no virus scanning software active.

Don't assume that an old high tech it is worst that a new low tech. What vga do you have on the old pc?

Movement is choppy, too laggy to actually play the game, but it does start at least. I watched the opening cutscenes.

Tried everything I could think of on my newer computer, still can't get it to launch. Searching online I find a lot of people have a problem getting this game to run, all sorts of things they do, and sometimes it works for them and sometimes it doesn't.

If some people have it running on Windows 10 without problems then, maybe its my graphics board. I reinstalled Windows 10 on my new computer not long ago so there is nothing else on it other than Steam and Firefox, I not downloading anything else. So nothing else running that would interfere with it launching. Windows Defender off, and I shut off my firewall entirely and still won't work.

At me it is working, but I have a nvidia gfx 1080 vga card.
