can i?
obviously not.
Only if you're willing to swap in and out gamesave folders, and that would be a real pain.

Here is your answer; but it's not really a pain. Just copy paste.

1.2 compresses saves, so the file is small now.
What would be stopping you? If you can keep your save files straight, you don't even need to swap folders, as far as I know. It's no different than going back to an older save and playing that, then switching to play a newer save. Same idea as going back to the save just before your Roche/Iorveth decision and following the one you didn't take.

I don't see why you can't play more than one at the same time as long as you can keep your save files straight.
the thing is that i'm in the middle of act 2 but i messed up my game with some mod, like i can mutate every skill now and my character is so powerful i one shot everyone on Hard. I chose Ivoreth path and would like to start a new game and choose Roche's but without the stupid mods, at the same time i don't want to loose all my progress.
So how does that copy paste thing work, would you explain please?
Thanks,
Rroke.

I couldn't keep all the Auto Saves straight. But many people have better brains than I. :)
So basicly i just copy and paste my current saved games somewhere else and start a new game and then when i want to play this game again i copy paste it back into the save folder after saving the current files?

Bingo

Even though CDPr added a delete feature, I still find this Save Game Manager useful:

Thanks a lot guys.

Hanns.g, that utility is wonderful thank you, wish i knew how to give +rep
To get rid of mods do i just go into the Baked folder and delete them all?

Just to be clear, doesnt the quicksave only have one file and overwrite itself everytime?

So i'd be sure to do manual saves if you plan on trying to keep track and juggle them.

Yes, that will work.

I'm not sure i'd get rid of the mods that are included in the patch though, cuz it may cause the next patch not to install.

I didn't write it, just linked it. :)

Not sure how the mods question is connected; but, yeah, if you have added xml or dzip to the CookedPC folder, just delete them if you don't like the modification they make. Everything will go back to how it was before adding them.

(Oh, and you can click the green button that appears when you hover over a post. It doesn't add rep as fast as an Question SOLUTION, but gives some points somehow. I'll give you a plus one for politeness. Cheers!)

Yes, Quick Saves overwrite the same file.

Different strategy for everybody but here is what works for me:

1. Hard Save when Geralt levels

2. Hard Save before a significant event (once you learn where they are)

3. Clean out Auto Saves at the end of a play session. Generally, the ones with game images, rather than just loading screen images are keepers.

The Auto Save points are pretty smart, I find. So Hard Saves at the points I mentioned have given me plenty of reference points.

Just make another user account in Windows. Saves always go into the documents folder of the user account playing the game.
