id like to know as well, the green dots also!

Red: hostile.
Green: friendly.
Blue: neutral, could become hostile.

These are often inaccurate.

really? i always see the green and blue when im walking around in Flotsam (only in ch1 so far). I was thinking it was maybe the wanted posters?

It's been a while since I played it, but from memory blue dots are NPC's who have something to say or give a quest.
