when in game, I cannot reduce volume using my keyboard's media options. I can control geralt and everything else in game, but can't reduce/increase volume using keyboard's media controls.

My only option so far is to launch the game (gog version) using steam's overlay option, and then while ingame, bring up the overlay using the shortcut and then my multimedia volume keys work while overlay is active.

what gives?

don't use your keyboard media options. Just use your speaker volume.

There have been a number of reported glitches with both mouse and keyboard software controls. Pretty much all of them are just minor annoyances.

... yep, gamepads have no volume controls

You also can't use the print screen key. Something about the game disallows those kinds of keyboard functions, it seems.

oh well, since there are no other solutions............ah well. STrange game engine issue.

Awesome game though, my fav since Baldur's gate 2.
