Did a google and not getting any thorough guides.. Is their a Prima or Brady out for this?

Alchemy kinda confusing with all the menu swaps, was hoping to to utilize my ingredients better..

Where's the silver ore? Found one in the quest: Scent of Incense but lost it on a reload..thought I saved, forgot to get my weapons from the chest when i left cave and when I reloaded silver wasen't there(in the cell) guess its a random rare drop!!

Thanks
Theres a free game guide included with your GOG purchase, which is a reasonably complete walkthrough.

While the guide that came with the game is alright, it still has issues- mostly dealing with improper translation / older version names of items. It tells you how things are done and what their consequences are reasonably well though.

*Spoiler*

Silver is rare in chapter 1, but one of the vendors sells it, and will replenish his stocks over time. It is much more commonly found in chpter 2.
I think other than the Game Guide that comes with the GOG version, you'd be hard pressed to find a proper guide at the moment. IIRC, there isn't a Brady or Prima guide for the original Witcher either. I played the game for the 1st time only after the EE Director's Cut came out, looked for a guide in Amazon and didn't find any.

Right now people are either still playing for the first time or busy doing a subsequent run-though. Some people are even still having trouble getting the game to run at all.

Perhaps look around in a week or two? Here's hoping one of the major publishers come out with a full-color, hardcover collectable guide for Witcher 2: AOK. I got one for Dragon Age: Origins and it was beautiful.
