torrent? never heard of it :O
In a way I feel like I'm abusing the system, because I got a retail Witcher 2 for $20 at Target, and now I have the $40 gog version. Now I have the extras and won't need to pop the disc in ever again. This was a great gesture to the members of gog and is another reason to love this company.
It's not like you can't give away the installer if you want. If you give away your key, you're essentially doing the same thing.
Well, if they give it to a friend and he likes it maybe he will buy the third one. I played the first witcher without buying it myself and was so amazed by the game that I bought it afterwards plus the sequel from gog to support the devs. They may lose a few copies that people wouldn't buy anyways but they will gain the trust and gratitude of the community. And that's why we love CDProjekt RED , free updates , no drm , pc-centric . Can't say the same for other companies (EA , Ubisoft etc)

Lou: I have to totally disagree with what is being said in this thread. I pre-ordered and purchased the GOG Version of the Witcher 2 as well as the Collector's Edition and have had them since release to show my support for GOG and CDPR. I do not think it is in any way an issue for me to give my "Back-Up" copy from the Collector's Edition away to someone as this is not CDPR doing anything for me for my support.
You already bought the game twice; I think you've done quite a bit to show your support and now you're introducing a great company and game to someone new, so no problems.
I quite like the having a spare copy and as EnigmaticT said it's down to trusting users. Even if someone does do that though it does have the benefit of introducing them to GOG, introducing them to CDProjekt and, if they like the game, getting more interest in future releases from CDProjekt. Now my GOG copy will sit on one of my external hard drives as a backup and as the patch is almost the size of the download I think I may as well get rid of my dvd install and use the GOG one. The disk'll sit happily on a shelf with all it's collector's edition content.
