Gave up patching... brand new machine and really wanted to play.

I was so pleased I could download the enhanced edition from scratch.

The game looks great.

Yep- manual download of backup from GOG did the trick. Good to have the Witcher 2 back!

UPDATE: after rebooting, back to the same problems...
