I was playing witcher on pc, got to act 2. One day I started the game and it stopped working, without any reason. No message, black screen or anything. Only "Witcher 1.4.5.1" is shown in the systray and disappear after a few seconds.
I have already reinstalled the game several times, to a different drive and other folders. I removed Directx and Visual C +++ 2010, 2013 etc. libraries and installed again. I don't know what else to do, I need help. I bought the entire Witcher trilogy on a gog and would love to go through it ...

I have laptop with Windows 10, nvidia geforce GTX 950m, 8 GB RAM, Intel Core i7-7500

I don't think it has anything to do with DirectX or Visual C. I would look at the graphic drivers, perhaps a recent update did something or they are in need of one. Try running dxdiag.exe and see what it reports under drivers, but I could be wrong so:

If you want you can add runtime libraries from the legacy DirectX SDK for some games that use D3DX9, D3DX10, D3DX11, etc ... (they may be missing from you reinstall) this package does not modify the DirectX Runtime installed on your Windows OS in any way. I always add them on any new Win10 PC to keep the old games working. I know it works to get some older Batman Arkham running.

Good luck.

I downloaded this version of directx, click "install" and ... it showed me "finish" screen, immediately. Do you think that i need second directx libraries istallation, both of them working simultaneously? Or sompething like that?

As for the graphic drivers, i reinstalled them lately. Maybe i should uninstall them definitevely, with registry, cleaner etc, and install once again?

Don't use the web installer.
Go here https://www.microsoft.com/en-au/download/details.aspx?id=8109 and download the run times.
Create a temporary folder on your desktop.
Run the installer and browse to the temporary folder.
Then scroll down until you see DXSETUP.exe (See Pic)
Then when it says installation complete, you can delete the temporary folder from the desktop.

The link I provided is not to a different version of DX but only adds older libraries required by some games. IT IS NOT A NEW VERSION.

Are they integrated graphics?
No, my laptop have nvidia geforce GTX 950m, and version of drivers installed is 472.12

Sorry we couldn't help, mate. I don't have much experience with the Nvidia cards as I swore off them years ago (don't open that can of worms) and have only used AMD for the last 15 years (so I encounter less problems).

Try fugin around with your graphics settings and see what happens both in Windows and whatever Nvidia provides.
Thanks for help, i wrote to support. We will see what they say about this

I always thought that Nvidia have good cards :D Well, that game worked before, but later some "accident" was happened.
