Hey guys, I checked on the minimum requirements for the game and I am pretty sure that I meet all of them. But when I run the game it gives me an error and says that I don't meet the requirements. I don't even get a chance to change any of the video settings. I checked on canyourun it, and although it says my video card is not supported I meet or surpass all of the RAM requirements. Is this just an unsupported Video Card?

EDIT: I've tried to change the shortcut and target field talked about in the sticky thread... anything else?

Thanks for the help

I'm afraid I might bring bad news.

If I'm not mistaken it says you have an intel G45/G43 express gpu, which would mean a GMA X4500HD, which is a terrible integrated graphics card.

Your GPU can get around 4000 3dmark2003 points, which is very bad compared to the 15000 of my very old 7800GS I had running the WItcher pretty decently at medium settings.
I checked the minimum GPU requirements, which is a Geforce 6600 or a Radeon 9800. These cards are both still at least twice as fast as your GPU.

In short, you can't run the Witcher on a GPU that slow.
Intel driver support also isn't that good, especially for older chipsets, so you probably won't be able to run the Witcher until you upgrade your graphics card (if possible). It could also be possible the WItcher 1 doesn't support (older) intel chipsets anyway.

The G43 or G45 is about the lowest chipset that will play the game at all. Earlier Intel chipsets definitely won't.

It should be playable on lowest settings at a resolution of, say, 1280x1024.

In any case, you will need to defeat the "minimum requirements" detection by running the game from a special shortcut. You have to get the shortcut setup just right; there are several errors that people commonly make when they do so.

The target of the shortcut must be exactly the path to the witcher.exe executable, followed by the "-dontForceMinReqs" switch as a separate argument. The position of every quote mark and space in the following example is important:

"C:\Games\GOG.com\The Witcher Enhanced Edition Directors Cut\System\witcher.exe" -dontForceMinReqs
