is Witcher 1 enhanced more stable on Gog then on steam... on Windows 10 I tried playing it on steam played it for 50 hours or so then it started blue screening and a nviddmkm.sys error from what I read it's just Win 10 friendly

I haven't played it on Steam, but the GOG version worked great on Windows 10 for me. Only problem was that around chapter 3 I started having frequent crashes, which were fixed by deleting old savefiles (a save folder with too many files makes the game unstable).

On GOG you also get Support to help you run the game, which is a plus.

Try to find out if it's really a problem connected to Steam.

* Shut down Steam completely.
* Use the explorer and seek for witcher.exe.
* Start the game using the .exe. Use a savegame before the blue screens.

Video encoding seems to run fine and when I use furmark to stress test the card the computer crashes hard

But no other time as long as I don't run a game

So i'm going with some part of the card dying
