It seems that you're using an outdated browser. Some things may not work as they should (or don't work at all).
We suggest you upgrade newer and better browser like: Chrome, Firefox, Internet Explorer or Opera

The Task Manger indicates "The Witcher 1.4 Patch Helper" isnt responding. As you know the patch says onscreen during installation it could take up to 2 hours, so is this normal behavior ?

Yep.

Though, it should take A LOT less than that - especially if you're on a high-end system.
Took me a matter of minutes here.

sYk0: is this normal behavior ?
Yes, it's normal.

The bigger the executable, the longer it will take.

It's because of UAC (User Account Control) that the slowdown occurs.

This is the reason why you see games/programs that have a small executable, and the files unpack from bin files, like GoG releases.

All you can do is wait, or try turning off UAC.
Actually iv found my own solution. If your running a x64 OS (in which im using XP Pro) yull need to, of course first place the 1.4 patch and the languge patch in the same folder and switch compatibilty mode for the 1.4 patch to ether 95 or 98/ME mode before executing. Otherwise you cant patch on this type of system.

Theres also a TWEE Unregister patch which was useless for me but may work for others.
